Local-First Storage Architecture
By default, Academy LMS executes and stores all student activity locally within your browser sandbox (window.localStorage under key academy_lms_state_v4).
- Personal study notes & topic remarks
- Highlighted syntax & formula snippets
- Topic bookmarks and progress checks
- Practice drill marks, test timers & flashcard states
- Client theme and active filter preferences
None of your personal notes or quiz attempts are transmitted across the network unless you explicitly sign in and initiate cloud synchronization. You can study completely offline without an internet connection.
Universal Authentication & Cloud Profile Sync
Academy LMS supports Universal Google Identity Services (GSI). All college or institutional email domain restrictions have been lifted, meaning students, faculty, and self-taught developers worldwide can sign in with any valid personal (@gmail.com) or academic Google account. We request only the bare minimum authentication credentials:
- Email Address & Display Name: Used exclusively to identify your student account and display your profile card.
- Profile Picture URL: Used strictly for rendering your avatar in your header badge and lecture study notes.
- Zero Password Access: Google handles all credential checks via cryptographically signed OIDC tokens. Academy LMS never sees, receives, or stores your Google password.
- No Sensitive Workspace Scopes: We never request access to Google Drive, Gmail, Contacts, or Google Calendar.
- Secure Session Storage: Authentication states are secured via
HttpOnly,Secure,SameSite=Laxsession tokens protected against Cross-Site Scripting (XSS).
Cloud-persisted study records are stored in an encrypted Neon Serverless PostgreSQL instance hosted in secure cloud data centers with strict connection pooling and parameterized queries to prevent SQL injection vulnerabilities.
Exam Simulator & Sandbox Ephemeral Privacy
Our interactive practice tools (University Exam Simulator, Protocol & Algo Sandbox, and Solved Numerical Trainers) are built for safe experimentation:
Answers typed in the University Exam Simulator remain in local ephemeral state while drafting. You can self-grade against university rubrics without fear of third-party evaluation or surveillance.
Private parameters entered into the Diffie-Hellman Sandbox, Cellular Cluster Planner, or HDFS Sizer are computed strictly inside your browser's JavaScript V8 engine and never logged to external servers.
Academic Integrity & Fair Use Policy
Academy LMS is created to cultivate deep conceptual mastery, mathematical rigor, and engineering intuition. We hold academic honesty to the highest standard:
Permitted Academic Use: Self-paced study, revision, algorithmic verification, practice test rehearsal, group discussions, and concept visualization for university courses.
Prohibited Misuse: Using the platform's instant numerical solvers or proof repositories during proctored mid-term or end-semester examinations in violation of your institution's honor code.
Data Portability, Export & Deletion Rights
You retain complete control over your academic data at all times:
Download a full JSON snapshot of all your notes, quiz records, and bookmarks anytime from your Profile page.
Clear your browser's local cache anytime through your browser settings to immediately wipe all local study traces.
To permanently delete your synced cloud records and comments, email the project administrator for an immediate wipe.
